Our People

Community

We are a neurodivergent-led community space for people exploring the intersections of autism, psychedelics, altered states, healing, identity, and lived experience. We believe neurodivergent people need places where their experiences can be recognized without being misnamed or explained away.

// The Challenge of Translation
Why This Matters

Many neurodivergent people spend a lot of energy translating their experience for neurotypical settings. This means translating tone, needs, sensory reality, and the assumptions behind everyday communication.

Over time, this creates real strain. Misalignment starts to feel like personal failure. Sensory overload starts to feel like weakness. Being different starts to feel like being broken.

Psychedelics can make this harder. When your mind is more open and your internal experience is more permeable, having accurate understanding and support around you matters even more.

Common ChallengesSupport active
Pressure that builds up
Mismatched Feedback
Receiving feedback based on assumptions that don’t fit your experience.
Raised
Difficulty Self-Understanding
Experience becomes harder to interpret when the mirrors around you are inaccurate.
Raised
Translation Burden
Constantly having to decode, soften, and self-monitor in neurotypical spaces.
High
Psychedelic Vulnerability
Open, permeable states increase sensitivity to misunderstanding and misattunement — amplifying every pressure above.

// How We Communicate
Why Community Helps

Community provides a corrective environment that reduces the need for constant translation. When the people around you share similar experiences, your experience doesn’t have to be translated before it can be recognized.

When the mirror is more accurate, self-understanding can recalibrate — so each person’s experience can be held with truer empathy.

What the APC Provides

APC is a community space built around the need for accurate reflection. It exists for neurodivergent people navigating psychedelics, altered states, mental health systems, and the meaning-making that emerges from those experiences.

Much of this site uses symbolic language. On this page we make sure everything resolves clearly — shared language only works if we define it together.

Sustainability

APC’s community work goes beyond live gatherings. Curating resources, hosting events, maintaining platforms, supporting accessibility, and coordinating the moving parts of the community all require time, labor, infrastructure, and ongoing stewardship.

Donations help keep these resources accessible and support the continued development of tools, events, and community support systems.
